The main enemies of the Romans during this time were Gallic and Germanic tribes in the west and the Parthians of Persia in the east.Add to these the Roman civil wars and the Jewish revolt of the mid 1st century AD.and there are plenty of enemies and scenarios for your Romans to fight.
